How to set up your .edu email account
After you create edu email, you need Setting up your email account is a relatively easy process. The first thing you’ll need to do is sign in to your Rutgers NetID account. If you don’t have a NetID yet, you can sign up for one at http://netid.rutgers.edu/
When you log in, you’ll be met by a page that looks like this: Click on “sign up” at the bottom of the page.
A dialog box should open that looks like this: Fill in your Rutgers NetID information and hit the “sign up” button. Then, a few moments later, you should be greeted by an enticing new page. Click on the “sign up” link in the middle of the page.
You should be prompted to “Enter your profile” and give it a name. Once that’s done, you should see a page like this: The beauty of an @your_school.edu email address is that it allows you to give your prospective coach direct access to your school’s email database.
While @your_school.edu isn’t the most exciting name, it’s a nice way to let potential students and their parents know that you are a part of the Rutgers community.
So, once they hit “Sign up,” they’ll receive an automated email that includes the following information: Pro-tip: If they don’t receive an email shortly after hitting “Sign up,” make sure to check your spam folder. To be completely fair, I recently received an email from Dar Williams of the University of Texas saying that options for my @aol.com email were currently unavailable.
