This post is also available in: Indonesia (Indonesian)

We live in a world of inventions where science and technology have revolutionized. With time, the advancement of technological revolution is increasing which has given man such facilities that he is living a comfortable and cheerful life. Many incredible changes are taking place in the world due to the technological revolution.

The history of technology is 2.5 million years old.  It started when the man learned, how to make tools with stones?  The discovery of fire contributed to the creation of ceramics and smelt metals for humans of that era. At the same time, revolutionary technologies and other tools came into being such as the loom, the brick, wheel, spinning, and weaving. Greeks and Roman introduced new machinery to the world of technology using tools and techniques discovered by their ancestors. Such as pulley, screw, etc.,

Gunpowder, Flash, and lock system were invented in the 13th century. At the end of the 13th century, people making clothes and laid the foundation of the industrial revolution.

  • 14th century has changed the world. His inventions include
  • The printing press, coffee house, eyeglasses.
  • 16th century:  Zacharias Janssen invented the command microscope and Galileo invented Thermometer.
  • 17th century: Hans Lippert invented the first refracting telescope and the knitting machine invented by William Lee in 1589

Technological Revolution

The technological revolution of the 18th century

The 18th century started from January 1701 to December 1800. Innovations have been made slowly, but the most important age of technology and inventions is the 18th century. The 18th century saw the beginning of the Industrial Revolution and the invention of the various kind of machines that led to the era of production and development.  18th-century inventions include:

Cotton Gin

The cotton gin is the machine whose invention revolutionized the cotton industry. Eli Whitney invents it in 1790. This machine is used to separate the seeds from cotton, which has made the work of laborers much easier.

Lightning Rod

Benjamin Franklin invented the lightning rod in 1752. It was also called a lightning attractor. Lightning rods provide a low resistance path to ground that can be used to conduct an electric current when the strike occurs. If the lightning strike, the system tries to carry harmful current safely to the ground.

The technological revolution of the 19th Century

The 19th century started from January 1801 to December 1900. In this century, technology has progressed in the fields of chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology, and electricity that led to some amazing inventions. Inventions of this century include:

Christopher Sholes created the first typewriter, in 1867. A typewriter is an electromechanical machine that is used for writing characters, similar to those produced by a printer moveable type. This machine is still used in the different areas of the world, like America and India.

The telephone is a system that converts voice into the electric impulse of varying frequency and brings it back to its original state. The credit for inventing the telephone goes to Alexander Graham Bell and Elisha Gray, who work separately on their project. The telephone is the most important invention of this century that has made our communication easier and we can contact our loved ones at any time in any corner of the world.

Airplane travels up to 7,000 mph and it is the fastest way to travel.

21st century

The most recent century is the twenty-first century, which starts in January 2001. Man, of this century, has also incredible inventions that amaze the mind.

In every age, technological revolution and scientific inventions have made human life easier and more comfortable, and there is no doubt that the development of the world is due to technology and scientific discoveries.
